The Charles Brackbill Lecture Series
The Snyder Academy of Elizabethtown
The Brackbill Lecture Series honors and memorializes the life and legacy of The Reverend Charles Brackbill Jr., who served with distinction as a pastor, educator, media executive and humanitarian for more than six decades. His vision and leadership transformed the campus of the First Presbyterian Church into a dynamic center for history, education, the arts and social and economic development in midtown Elizabeth.
The Brackbill Lecture Series brings scholars, educators, historians and religious leaders to the community to present talks that will further the causes that were dear to Reverend Brackbill and that will continue his legacy of service to the people of Elizabeth.
As funding permits, The Snyder Academy plans to host three lectures each year. The Old First Historic Trust, which manages The Snyder Academy, seeks support from the community to fund the Brackbill Lecture Series. Funders can sponsor individual programs with a gift of $350. A gift of $1,000 will underwrite the series for a full season. Donors may endow the series in perpetuity with a gift of $20,000.
