Resources

Resources for Students:

Activity Booklet for Fourth Graders – This downloadable booklet includes quizzes, maps and other activities to help fourth grade-level students remember what they’ve learned on their visit to the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth and the Snyder Academy.

Find out about two of the Patriots in the First Presbyterian Church cemetery, Hannah Caldwell and Shepard Kollock, through the Revolutionary Neighbors program of our partner, Crossroads of the American Revolution National Heritage Area.

Resources for Teachers:

School Tours Flyer for Teachers – Students will learn about the founding of Elizabethtown in 1664 on the very spot where the first colonial assembly met, the first religious congregation was formed, the first school and college were founded and where several generations of prominent leaders and thinkers shaped the development of Elizabeth, New Jersey and the United States. Using the campus and its historical resources as artifacts, students will be exposed to history, government, geography, art, architecture, education, religion, sociology, economics and archeology.
